Tomorrow Girls by Eva Gray

This week I read Tomorrow Girls by Eva Gates.

There are four books to the Tomorrow Girls series. this week I will be reviewing book one Behind the Gates.

the back of the book reads

Disaster and destruction are all that 13 yr. old Louisa has ever known. but now she and her best friend, Maddie, are among the lucky few being sent to boarding school, far away from home. Finally, a taste of freedom!
country manor school isn’t perfect. the girls’ roommates are tough to get along with, and the school is hard work. still, Louisa loves CMS-the survival skills , the fresh air. she doesn’t mind having no TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. it’s for their safety after all.
or is it?

Amazon summarizes it as:

In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want
to survive.
Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school
— but she’s excited, too. And she has her best friend, Maddie, to keep her
company. The girls have to pretend to be twin sisters, which Louisa thinks just
adds to the adventure!
Country Manor School isn’t all excitement, though.
Louisa isn’t sure how she feels about her new roommates: athletic but snobby
Rosie and everything’s-a-conspiracy Evelyn. Even Maddie seems different away
from home, quiet and worried all the time.
Still, Louisa loves CMS —
the survival skills classes, the fresh air. She doesn’t even miss not having a
TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. It’s for their own safety, after
all.
Or is it?

my summary is:

Louisa’s life has gotten better. she now has a twin sister-her own best friend! Maddie, her best friend, had to move in with her because both of her parents had gone to fight in the war. so now they had her ID bracelet information changed so it looked like she was her twin, and now their off to CMS aka Country Manor School, where they will “travel back in time” to our age.

but things start to go wrong. all the girls have their phones taken away as well as their electronics. then they have their jewelry taken away. Finally, the most astonishing their identity bracelets which they had been told could never be taken away.

Here’s what I like about this book:

doesn’t show communities with a controlled life. it shows a more realistic life style with real things that could happen or are happening. Example: more drastic weather.

next week I will be reviewing book two of the tomorrow girl series

Great review, Gaea! I’ve never heard of this series! Sounds like it’s right up my alley! Especially with the time travel factor! Cheers!
